Our Factory and Quality Control
Starting a factory is much more complicated than selecting a manufacturer to build your design, but we knew what we had to do to accomplish our goals. The Phitz team developed and built our own factory in Longgang, China from the ground up. Owning a factory gives us the freedom to create. Our confidence in what we can deliver lets us push visual and design boundaries. We’re proud of what we do and we’re eager to show you how we operate.
Every bobbin of thread, every roll of fabric, and every stitch in every product is compared against the high standards we’ve set for ourselves. By the time you receive your Phitz bag, it’s undergone more than 40 quality control steps.
If we didn’t have our own workshop, we wouldn’t know that the work was being done. We wouldn’t know if we had a bad batch of zipper pulls until we started hearing problems—months too late. Control is beautiful.
Behind the Phitz Design and Manufacturing Philosophy
We design and manufacture these bags ourselves. You’ll understand what that means when you open your Phitz bag for the first time, and when you’re still using it five years from now.
See, we hate the idea of making stupid things. Owning our own sewing workshop means we know everything about the materials and sewing methods that we’re using. We bought specialized machines that make perfect stitches at critical reinforcement points. Every design decision we make is based on one question: could this be any more right?
